At some point an idea crossed my mind to make something that plays on the cannon (a big weapon used in war) and canon (an authoritative book or record). So like all techno-obsessives, I bought a domain name.
Not knowing what to do with it, I built this. This application solves a tiny annoyance of Virginia criminal attorneys, and probably mostly prosecutors since they tend to need to use VCC codes more. But it is a single unified interface where you can put in a Virginia statute or a Virginia VCC code and it will display the full text of the Virginia statute with all of its associated VCC codes (and info) below it. It basically saves having to lookup codes and statutes in two different places.
Not sure where this project is headed exactly, but I do think it has several potential angles for expansion into something more. What it needs most is a new name and new web address.
The visual style is modeled after my favorite filmmaker duo of all time, and tries to avoid legal iconography as much as possible although the scales of justice did make it into the design at some point.
